Our Story: From the Classroom to the Coffee Cup
At Schoolhouse Coffee, our journey has been fueled by two passions: education and coffee. While this is our first year officially entering the coffee business, our roots run deep in the world of education, with over 25 years of experience dedicated to teaching, coaching, and leading in schools. From shaping young minds as teachers and coaches to influencing school culture as curriculum coordinators, assistant principals, and principals, we’ve spent decades supporting those who make learning possible.
Throughout our years in education, coffee was more than just a beverage—it was a trusted companion. It helped us jump-start the early mornings before the school bell rang and provided a much-needed boost during those long afternoons when energy began to wane. It became part of our routine, a shared ritual in the breakroom, and even a conversation starter with colleagues.
Now, we’re bringing that same sense of comfort and connection to the coffee business. Our blends are crafted with the same care and dedication we brought to our classrooms and offices, designed to energize and inspire educators, staff, and anyone who needs a moment to recharge.

Quarterly, we’ll select winning schools and provide a donation directly to the Principal’s Account, Student Council, or Teacher’s Club Account—wherever it’s needed most.

Guatemala's distinctive coffee-producing regions, including Antigua, Huehuetenango, Atitlán, Cobán, and Fraijanes, each contribute unique characteristics to the beans. The high-altitude environments, typically ranging between 4,000 and 6,000 feet, create the perfect conditions for slow bean development, which enhances flavor complexity.
